Type your answer here... the battery for the volkswagen touareg is under the driver's seat
You may want to check to see if the transmission line that runs underneath your battery is pinched. We recently had the same experience, and it was determined that when the battery was replaced, the transmission line was pinched because it sits directly underneath the battery.
Directly behind the battery. Yellow round handle.
A "Group 42" battery
Usually the dipstick in near the battery somewhere but if its triptonic then there is none and also on any manual cars. Usually the dipstick in near the battery somewhere but if its triptonic then there is none and also on any manual cars.
Which one? There are three. The battery ground runs from the negative pole on the battery to somewhere on the chassis. There's one on the transmission, and the one for the engine runs between the valve cover and the plate the hood striker is in. Which one? There are three. 12 volts battery.
The backup switch is on top of the transmission directly below the battery. @ wires to it
battery does not power the transmission, but it does run the computer that tells the transmission what to do
Breather tube to allow gasses to escape from the battery
It should be a group 41 battery.
The starter is located near the bottom front of the engine. You can follow the positive battery cable, from the battery directly to the starter.

Its a Power Surge When you attach the new battery.
All starters are somewhere near the flywheel or flexplate, as the starter turns the flywheel or flexplate. That is located between the transmission and engine, but not visable. You will find a heavy gauge wire attached to the starter that will directly or indirectly run back to the battery positive terminal.

The battery in a VW beetles is located underneath the rear seat on the passenger side.
Remove the battery and have it tested at any auto parts store.
There are two cables that run from the starter relay on the drivers side fender wall and both of those wires run through a loom, behind the battery, down to the bottom of the transmission housing and over to the starter mounting bolts. There are 3 bolts that secure the battery cables in place: The first one is on the drivers fender wall behind the battery. The second is on the bottom of the transmission housing near the fender, but the bolt is directly secured to the transmission housing I think. If it isn't the transmission then it is around there somewhere, because I can't remember that particular bolt location. The third bolt is the bracket attached to the starter mounting bolts. That should take care of unfastening the battery cables loom, at that point, you should be able to remove the battery cables from the car as long as they are not connected to the battery, starter relay and the starter solenoid. I forgot the second bolt, because it was tricky to maneuver a rachet into the area and loosen the bolt.
Directly under battery-left side. Look for a white round knob and pull it up.
