Does the way you eat effect your period?

I have heard that during your period, eating more sweets and desserts will help you finish faster, so it is advised to eat them after 3-4 days of when you get it. Prior to having your period, if you have eaten food with iron then you may experience less pain and discomfort, some women prefer to take iron tablets to help reduce pain if their periods are heavy and painful. Apart from that, you can eat normally, drink plenty of water and count the days till it is over!
