Yes, it does.

No, it isn't!

Chlorinated water is most common today. Many choose this type of system because the chlorine tablets are already available. Many find it more effective in dealing with bacteria and algae. Without chlorine, the pool can get clogged easily and be swamped with green algae.

Generally algae causes pool water to turn green. If your asking about pool plaster, it's usually metals that cause it to turn green IE: copper or manganese. Sometimes that's from to low pH or use of copper based algaecides.

Yes, but you are much better off using chlorine shock. It is safer and better. Get chlorine count to greater than 3 ppm and run filter; be sure first to vacuum pool and then scrub bottom and sides with brush.

No, algae makes your pool water green. Use chlorine to kill the algae and maybe a good algaecide to keep it clear.

You added too little too late. Check the proper chlorine level every day using an OTO water tester. Make sure it is at least one part per million (1PPM). Hatawa

No. You need to clean the pool with chemicals made for that purpose. Most likely you will have to empty it, scrub the sides, put in new water, and add chemicals.
