Dropped as cosignor??? NO NO NO. You NEEDED a cosignor to get the loan rem? Unless your credit has improved greatly since then, you still need one. Dropping cosignors from loans is STRICTLY up to the LENDER who makes the loan.

If you have co-signed and the primary borrower has defaulted, you will need to step up and pay. If not then it will hurt your credit rating.
I would try to get the loan on my own and build MY credit up. Its a personal choice.
