How do you change the automatic transmission fluid in a 2002 hyundai sonata 2.7l?

There is a plug on the bottom of the transmission to drain it. You will need to heat up the fluid before you drain it. Be very carefull of the hot fluid.

How do you check transmission dipstick eclipse?

If your car running less then 10 minutes then it's considered a car with cold transmission fluid (fluid should be in the region of cold level marks, but not lower), if more then 10 minutes then it's hot (fluid should be in the region of hot level marks, but not higher). When you check transmission fluid level your car should be running.

Transmission fluid coming out of top of dipstick?

The transmission was overfilled when cold and overflows when hot after driving. There are usually two marks on the dipstick, cold and hot surprisingly. Fill to the appropriate mark. Also wait a minute and measure again after allowing the fluid to settle.

Normally your dipstick has a hot and cold mark on it. If not check it hot, always check it with the engine running on an even surface.

Check the viscosity of your transmission fluid, then ask what's appropriate weight for transmission fluid in your area.

How to Change automatic transmission fluid on a 1995 Toyota 4 Runner?

There is a drain plug on the bottom of the transmission, you will need a 14mm socket or wrench to remove it, drain all the fluid into a suitable container and reinstall the plug, be careful not to lose the small sealing ring. Remove the dipstick for the trans, it's the orange one, use a funnel on the dipstick opening to pour about 2.5 quarts slowly in, start the engine and check the fluid, notice there are "cold and hot" marks, it's best to check the fluid at hot with the engine warmed up with the engine at idle and in neutral, add fluid until it is at the hot mark. (about 4.8 quarts according to factory specs)

How does one change Transmission fluid on a Toyota Carina?

Lift the vehicle. Drain the fluid (there is a drain plug on the transmission fluid pan, do not confuse it with the oil pan. This one is on the driver's side and more rectangular. Drain plug is smaller) Measure the old fluid (how many liters).Put the drain plug back. Change washer with a new one. (fiber washer)Apply just enough torque. If possible use a torque wrench (I dont remember the required torque but something like 15nm)Put the car back to floor.Pour new atf through the dipstick pipe.Put as much as new fluid as you have just drained.Check multiple times cold and hot (by dipstick)

Where do you put transmission fluid in a 2002 Chevy Tahoe?

I have a 2002 Chevy Tahoe as well. Like many cars, the automatic transmission fluid is poured directly into the same tube the transmission dipstick is located. The transmission dipstick has a red locking grip with the words 'TRANS/LOCK ->' imprinted on the handle. Do not confuse with the engine oil dipstick which has a yellow grab ring. The transmission dipstick has two ranges - one for cold transmission fluid levels, the other for hot transmission fluid levels. Please refer to page 6-25 of your user manual for specifics about this. Suffice it to say, the manual suggests only adding transmission fluid after checking the hot transmission fluid level where it is found to be low. The cold transmission fluid range is for reference only and is not trustworthy. If adding transmission fluid, be sure to use fluid labeled as Dexron III - any other type may cause permanent damage to the transmission.

Do you have to drain the oil and transmission fluid to replace the rear main seal?
