Adderall should not be taken if you have taken an MAO inhibitor within the last two weeks. MAO inhibitors include medications such as phenelzine (Nardil®), tranylcypromine (Parnate®), isocarboxazid (Marplan®). Adderall can also interact with the following drugs: •acetazolamide
•alcohol containing beverages
•bupropion
•caffeine
•furazolidone
•guarana
•insulin and other medicines for Diabetes
•levodopa
•linezolid
•lithium
•medicines for colds, sinus, and breathing difficulties
•medicines for high blood pressure and heart medicines
•other medicines for mental depression or anxiety
•medicines for mental problems and psychotic disturbances
•some medicines for migraines (propranolol)
•medicines to decrease appetite or cause weight loss
•meperidine
•melatonin
•other stimulant medications (examples: dexmethylphenidate, methylphenidate, modafinil)
•pimozide
•propoxyphene
•seizure (convulsion) or epilepsy medicine
•selegiline
•sodium bicarbonate
•thyroid hormones This is not a complete list. Interactions between Adderall and some medications have not yet been identified.

∙ 14y agoCaffeine, marijuana. Cigarettes seem to be phenomenal when on Adderall.
And Xanax or some kind of benzo. It doesn't exactly increase the Adderall, but the two combined give you a really nice high.
Also taking tums or baking soda or something like that will make the Adderall kick in faster and stay around longer.

no adderal is used to treat ADHD and narcolepsy other than that it isn't prescribed for anything else but a lot of people use it as a recriational drug and snort it to get a speed like feeling out of it. Actually, I have been diagnosed with bipolar disorder, and have been prescribed Adderall XR as a way to counteract the zombie-like effects I feel from taking my antidepressants. The Adderall gives me the energy and motivation to get up in the morning and be productive, whereas the antidepressants elevate my mood but leave me feeling lazy and lethargic. So yes, Adderall is an effective treatment for my bipolar disorder, when takin in conjunction with other medications. I've heard that takng Adderall alone may cause some bipolars to go into a manic phase, but I personally haven't had that experience.

Many prescription medications can cause serious organ damage and have adverse effects causing heart and respiratory problems, or organ failure/death, and the only way to control such medications is to put a PRESCRIBED DOSE and directions directly by the physician and to the person the medication is intended for. These medications can also have effects if taken with other drugs, which, again, is why they are PRESCRIBED.

I would recommend trying other medications in place of Adderall / concerta (i.e. Wellbutrin, Strattera, etc). Stimulant medications are linked to irritability in some people.
