Dual core is generally better because it has twice the amount of multitasking power. Say a single core is 3 GHZ and you find a dual core that is 2 GHZ the dual core is going to be stronger for tasks which use both cores because it is almost like having a single core that is 4 GHZ.

For single-threaded tasks, it is really about the GHZ. If you are not using the other cores, then you'd be better off having more processor speed. If you find a 3ghz dual core processor it's going to be like a 6 GHZ single core however they don't sell single core processors that fast so your better off just getting the dual core.

Clock speed and number of cores have nothing to do with each other. The purpose of the additional cores is not to make it faster, but to give it more power and multitasking ability. Tasks will seem faster since they will get more attention from whatever core(s) they are using. If a task uses multiple cores effectively, then you get the boost from using multiple cores. But if a task only uses one core, then CPU speed would be better for performance.

If clock speed and other factors are equal, then multi-core is always better. But if you use only single-threaded applications, then a faster CPU might be better than having more cores.

Dual core represents two processors in a single system.Speed will be more in dual core systems.

2GHZ dual core processor or 3GHZ celeron processor?

Dual core. Since it is dual core, it can do 2 processes at once, making it similar to a 4GHz single core

independent cores into a single package composed of a single IC. A dual-core processor contains two cores, and a quad-core processor contains four cores.

What is a duo core in laptops?

dual core in laptops is when u have two processors running instead of just one. with dual core u can run more applications at once than single core laptops dual core in laptops is when u have two processors running instead of just one. with dual core u can run more applications at once than single core laptops

What exactly is a dual core laptop?

A dual core laptop is a laptop that uses a processor that has two cores. Having two cores allows a laptop to perform more powerful functions and speed than if it had a single core.

Can dual core be splitted to single individal core?

No, but you can disable additional cores a lot of times.

Is it better to have a 1.5 GHz dual core processor or a 3.0 GHz?

the 1.5 dual core can handle 2 threads at the same time and 3.0 single core can only handle 1 thread both of them switch threads rapidly if you have CPU-z you will find that the only difference in number of threads (the number of cores in single core is 2) short answer : the dual core is faster in multitasks the single core is faster in single task (like most of games)

it a single processor

What is difference between single core dual core processor?

dual core processors allow for twice as much data processing thus making computer much faster and stable.
