Europeans were introduced to new ideas through the Greek and Latin manuscripts that crusaders brought back. this ultimately led to the Renaissance and the scientific revolution

-the crusaders bought back spices from the Byzantine empire and people realized how useful they were. this increased trade and led to the revival of a cash economy (before they bartered)

-a vast migration of Jews. the crusaders were killing Jewish towns on the way to Jerusalem so they moved. ***for the first time in history organized violence and genocide was accepted

-the Christians gained Jerusalem but ONLY TEMPORARILY
