Well, two examples of a volcano is the worlds largest volcano Krakatoa which was in the Sunda Strait between Java and Sumatra in Indonesia. And was still heard clearly in Africa and was the loudest sound in the world and these the volcano under Yellowstone park which is like 3 to 5 times larger than Krakatoa and if it erupts in cause a second ice age look it up.
