Explain how the kenetic energy of an object changes when the speed of the object doubles?

Best way is visual and constant mass.

KE = 1/2 mV2

KE = 1/2(100 kg)(20 m/s)2

= 20000 joules

80000/20000

= 4 times the kinetic energy by doubling the velocity because the velocity is squared
