Mohr's scale of hardness is used for minerals found in the earth. It basically refers to the ability of a harder material to scratch a softer material.
The Mohr's Scale of hardness defines ten standard minerals on a hardness scale with hardness from 1 to 10, 1 being the softest and 10 being the hardest.
