Physical Change is any change made to a substance without changing its chemical composition. For example, cutting iron or heating clay. when i cut iron i am still left with iron, when i heat clay, all i have is solid clay. i didn't change their chemical compositions

Physical change is changing it in appearance or mass, but not chemically. For example an example of physical change would be to cut a piece of paper in half as you do not change its chemical composition, this is as opposed to burning the paper, which would change it chemically.

A chemical change cannot usually be reverted due to the alteration of molecular formations within a substance. Cooking a raw vegetable can be treated as a chemical change because the process cannot be reverted, unless the object can spontaneously quantum tunnel to an earlier stage of itself, or there is technology capable of increasing the probability of such phenomenon.

A physical change on the contrary is a reversible change which usually involves a transfer of energy to or away from the substance or object in question. Freezing some water contained in a beaker may serve as an example, as supplying sufficient thermal energy to the ice that forms will revert the ice back to its original liquid water state.
