Active transport is the movement of molecules across a membrane requiring energy to be expanded by the cell.

ACTIVE TRANSPORT REQUIRES ENERGY.

Passive transport is diffusion across a membrane requiring only random motion of molecules with no energy expanded by the cell.

PASSIVE TRANSPORT REQUIRES NO ENERGY.

Passive transport is like diffusion in that particles move across the concentration gradient (from high concentration to low concentration), but active transport it is the movement of particles against the concentration gradient (from low concentration to high concentration).

In the passive transport energy is not needed, but in active transport energy is needed.

Passive transport is a type of diffusion in which no energy is required for it to occur. A common example includes osmosis. On the other hand, active transport does require energy for diffusion to occur. An example includes the diffusion of Cl- ions.

What id the difference between active and passive transport?

Active transport requires ATP and passive transport does not. Active transport goes against the concentration gradient and passive transport goes with the concentration gradient and includes osmosis, diffusion and facilitated diffusion.

What is the defference between active transpors and passive transport?

The difference between active and passive transport, is that, active transport, requires energy input from the cell, in order to occur, unlike passive, which occurs, without any energy input.

What are passive and active transport?

Passive transport and active transport are transport of materials across membranes. Passive requires no energy, while active does.

Distinguish between active and passive transport?

Active Transport is the passage of materials across the membrane through the expenditure of energy. Passive Transport is the passage of materials across the membrane without the expenditure of energy. Bulk Transport is the type of active transport. Diffusion and Osmosis are type of passive transport.
