Explain the disadvantages of oral communication?

There is no formal record of the interaction. Oral conversations hold no permanence (like writing), so some of the content of the conversation can be forgotten.
If a verbal message is passed on from person to person, the content can become distorted from the original message.

It is possible that the listener may perceive the message according to their own ideas, opinions and values which may differ from what the speaker was initially trying to convey.

Conversation is often spontaneous and thus lacking careful thought. This could lead to the message being conveyed in a less effective way or lapses in tact.
