All dogs keep cool in the summer by panting. This causes water to evaporate from their tongue and the inside of their mouth. Evaporating water cools the tissue and blood near the point of evaporation.
The food for an afghan hound should contain nutrient sources that are similar to those found in the native environment of the breed's ancestors, and the proper balance of protein, carbs, fats and minerals. The best diet for an Afghan hound is one that the owner makes fresh, using quality ingredients.
Yes. Greyhounds and poodles are the exact same species, a domesticated canid, Canis lupus familiaris, descended from wolves. The reason they look so different is due to artificial selection - we've bred them for specific traits, both physical and behavioural. But on a genetic level the two are the same species.
Um well I am not sure what you mean by "hound dog" because that could be anything from a greyhound to a basset hound. Sometimes you can get a dog for free, but that is very seldom and probably the owner of the dog will do that as a last resort. Then there are very valuable champion sighthounds that cost a fortune. Since you gave me a very broad question, I will give you a very broad answer.
The Afghan hound often hunted with the aid of falcon's. The first Afghan hound came to England in the early 1900s and quickly becoming one of the most competitive and glamorous dog breeds. But they are not the most popular dogs in the United States; the Labrador Retriever is.

Bulgaria
German Empire Germany and its states, as well as member states and colonies of its empire in Africa, Asia and the Pacific.)
Ottoman Empire (Turkey and its empire) You should look up "World War 1" in an encyclopedia. On one side were the Central Powers: Germany, Austria-Hungary, Bulgaria and Turkey. On the other side were the Triple Entente of Britain, France and Russia, which came to the aid of Serbia and Belgium, and were joined by Italy (in 1915), the US (in 1917), Japan, China, and other countries. Russia's Communist government made a separate peace in March 1918 (not November 1917). The province is spelled Herzegovina. Serbia was the original victim of the Central Powers and hence can hardly be listed as one of them. Since Montenegro was an ally, it can hardly be listed as a Central Power.
There are currently 192 countries involved in the UN.
Afghan hounds are relatively inactive indoors and in many ways, they are couch potatoes. They do need moderate exercise however. A one hour walk, one or two times daily is sufficient. Considering their origins as runners, they do need a wide open space to run and stretch their legs, at least 4 times a week if not daily. Make sure it is a fenced area. An outdoor tennis court will be best. These dogs are sighthounds and will chase anything that moves!! They can also reach speeds of 30 miles/hour in 9 seconds! That's faster than a Thoroughbred race horse!! Trust me when I say, if it gets away from you, you won't be able to chase it. They are not the most obedient dogs. Rather independent. It's either their way, or the highway kind of dogs.
All in all, this breed can adapt well to apartment life considering its quiet and laid-back nature. However, you must commit to giving it the proper amount of exercise or it might become destructive. They require consistent training with a gentle hand. These are sensitive dogs. They are VERY intelligent, but not very obedient.
I would recommend a teenage or adult Afghan who has already passed the energetic puppy stage.
As it is a proper noun, being the name of something, it has the first letter in each word as a capital and so it is Afghan Hound.
They are 1 of the top 3 fastest dogs in the world. They can run 56 - 64 km/h
They can be called pashtuns\pathans and are from Afghanistan, a country touching Pakistan and have India as one of its famous neighbours.
The Afghan needs weekly baths and frequent brushing to avoid matts and tangles, especially in adulthood when its luxurious coat becomes thicker and longer. It does not shed.
Afghan Hound Care & groomingAfghan Hounds are big in size and inactive indoors, therefore plenty of daily activities are needed to keep them healthy. The grooming of an Afghan Hound usually takes a lot of time. Their coats need substantial grooming, therefore They need frequent brushing. Baths should be conducted routinely, and clipping and stripping of the coat is necessary many times per year. Afghan Hounds may lead to ear diseases. Frequent ear cleanings are suggested to get away from diseases.
According to the official Kennel Club Breed Standard, Afghan Hounds should reach between 25 and 29 inches at the shoulder, meaning that they are medium to large in size.
No, the Afghan Hound is not available in all version of Nintendogs and Nintendogs and Cats.
Afghan hounds have to be considered still a relatively healthy breed compared to many others, but as all breeds they also do have some more typical issues - Juvenile hereditary cataract, hypothyroidism, some cancer types ( osteosarcoma, lymphoma, lung cancer..), laryngeal paralysis, sometimes also OCD or wobbler's syndrome.
Ten to fifteen years. Smaller dogs live longer than larger breeds.

Afghan Hounds are not a very common breed, but they are not on the endangered breeds list. They are not very popular as pets in most places, unless they are kept as show dogs. This is usually because of their long coats which require daily grooming, and usually are only kept as show animals - although they do make good pets. Therefore, although the Afghan Hound is uncommon, it is not an endangered or vulnerable breed.
