There are many differences in a horse and a grizzly.

It\'s possible, actually. Bison will attack a grizzly bear if that bear is going in to attack one of the calves of that herd, and those horns on a bison, short though they seem, can deliver a lot of damage to a grizzly, probably enough to kill it.

during winter, the grizzly bear grows a thick layer fur coat and the air in it traps heat from the surroundings. it also hibernates which is similar to sleeping and its life processes slow down, thus using less energy, for example, its breathing becomes slower. before hibernation, it also eats a lot so it stores fat as a source of energy for the long winter hibernation.

Sure, just be sure you have the nerve. A charging Griz will only give you a look at one vital area for a shotgun with birdshot and thats it's head. The nasal cavity is a large soft tissue area that leads right to the brain and will drop or turn a Griz on the spot. Now like I said it's all about nerve. From more than 5 feet the shot will spread out too much to have the power to kill, and it will definitely turn the bear at no more than 10 feet. On a bluff charge the ears will remain upright. If there down....it's coming to get you. Bears can usually be turned from a longer distance on a bluff charge.

I like this approach over any large caliber rifle or handgun as you need to be pin point accurate with either of those and hit the CNS. Very few Griz have been stopped in their tracks unless you hit the CNS. Birdshot gives you more room for error. Use this method only as a second choice, as bear spray would still be my first option.

Bears mark their territory so other bears know to keep away. It is very important so the bears can survive and have enough food for the winter hibernation. It is also important so that other bears can tell if it's male or female, strong or weak so they can tell to stay away or invade.

When buying a bear you have to know that it is NOT just the original cost of the bear, but the other things you need to buy. Like food for example, you need to have at least fifty pounds of beets on hand at all times because bear do in fact eat beets. All of these costs add up and you need to have the funds to support it.

But in the end, if you have to ask how much a bear costs, you cant afford it.

Grizzlies and Black Bears use their claws as an adaptation to hunt, climb and dig.

grizzlies also have a very good smell to get to their prey as well as having a hump of muscle on their back for running and digging and a keen sense of smell for tracking prey.

Grizzly Bears in particular have specially adapted claws that are longer & have less arch than a black Bear's claws, they are adapted for digging, tearing apart fallen trees & overturning rocks; along with theses unique digging claws the grizzly has a muscular hump that provides tremendous strength & power to its front limbs.

Black Bears have shorter claws that are more hooked, they are specially adapted for climbing.
