How do you change an alternator in a 1988 jeep?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

To remove ours we had to go underneath and take it out that way. Once we got all the bolts out we had to take off the brackets to get it to drop out. Installation is the reverse of removal. Quite a PITA!!!

Where can you find a diagram of the parts of a pistol?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

If you want drawings accurate enough to reproduce the part, you need the machinist drawings which have accurate dimensions. Usually the patent drawings do not go to that detail and you may be hard pressed to get the information, depending on the gun you are researching.

If you want exploded drawings to see where the parts fit in relation to each other, get the Gun Digest book of exploded firearms drawings available at http://www.krausebooks.com/category/firearms_knives

Try looking on the back of the fuse box cover, there is often a diagram there. If not it should be in the owner's manual.

Fasten seatbelt light flashes on your 1998 corolla when your seatbelt is fastened?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I had the same problem in my 99 Sienna. I went to the Toyota dealership (Canada) and they said I had to replace the entire seat belt and mechanism ($300+). Apparently the seatbelt sensor is tamper-proof, so if it goes on the fritz, you have to replace the whole thing instead of just replacing the sensor. I'm not convinced; I think Toyota is saying that because you're not supposed to tamper with it (ie. protecting their liability), but there must be a more affordable do-it-yourself way to fix it.

I have the same with my 2000 Sienna. I found a Corolla owner on a forum with the same problem and he replaced the buckle with a newer one that had the buckled-sensing switch in the buckle and wired it into the switch plug from the belt retractor. Can we do the same with our Siennas? I am going to check this out. It seems that Toyota used the buckle sensor up until 98, switched away from it for three years, and then went back to it in the 2001 models, hence the ability to replace the buckle.

How do you replace the serpentine belt on a 1998 Saturn SL2?

There is a tension pulley to the left of the alternator. Put a 19mm socket with a torque wrench on the pulley nut. Turn the nut in a counter-clockwise direction. This will lift the pulley away from the belt and allow you to slip it off. Install is the reverse of removal.

What could the ticking noise coming from the engine of a 1999 Daewoo Lanos be and approximately how much would it cost to get it fixed?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

My brother's Daewoo Lanos 2000 (using the stantard E-TECH engine) which I have been working on since about 15,000 miles has since day one had the same ticking in the engine. When I went back to the dealership I was assured that there was no problem with the car and that all of the Daewoo that use the e-tech engine (which is now also used in the Chevy Aveo and the Kia Spectra) have the same characteristic ticking. When I expressed my disbelief the dealer took me around and let me listen to most of the daewoo left on the lot. It is true that they all shared the ticking. It seems poor engineering that creates an engine that ticks. After all the ticking MUST be caused by parts that are tourching, and after a while surely it will wear away. It is worrysome but as of yet I have been unable to find a cure for this praticular problem. If there are comments about this answer please email me: michael_w_dawson@yahoo.com

They have 305 horse. The SS had either 325 or 335.

It was underated at 305 horse power at the factory, but was actually closer to 325.

*** Depending on the trim, Z28 or SS, it made anywhere from 290 to 305rwhp for the Z28 and 305 to 315rwhp for the SS Camaro. ***

How do you remove rear door speakers in avalanche?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Just did this last night while replaceing stock speakers. There are 2-bolts that hold the door panel on. 1St bolt bottom hinge side 2Nd bolt between door handle. Remove bolts, lift up on entire door panel, disconect light & window wire harnesses (clip style use flathead screwdriver), then use Allen wrench or appropreiate Allen driver to remove all 4 speaker bolts. To install repeat the same order backwards. Importanat...Be sure your new speaker has enough clearance between window & speaker magnet. Test your window slowly to see if window clears new speaker. Speakers/mids are 5-1/2 inch 140mm. If your window does not clear new speaker/mids then make spacers/washers on 4 mounting bolts between the speaker and the door. I went with the Rockford Fosgate T1625 set up with mids, tweets & crossovers. Sound awesome. Hope this helps.
