Does anybody remember a TV show called only Maloney A Liverpool guy called Peter Maloney was the star he was a teacher at the then Cardinal Allen Grammar School?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I attended St Malachy's Boys , Robertson Street between 1964-68 and remember there being a bit of a celebration day when Peter returned to visit the school, with press and possibly tv people in attendance. It seems he had taught there sometime in the late 1950's and had since gone on to bigger things.

He was obviously held in high regard and the headmaster was Mr O'Reilly (Dicko) and his deputy was Miss McBride ( Ma Bride). I seem to remember he had that lovely Irish, Scouse, and elegant twang and obviously a tremendous vocabulary and wit.

Sorry to see his obituary and was surprised to see he was only 24 years older than myself but it certainly brought back some warm memories of my childhood.

Where can you get custom made diecast cars?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Research a process called "lost wax casting". The process is simple really. Make a model of what you want using wax. Put a stem on the model somewhere that you can peel off when it turns to metal. Put the model into a special sand or heat resistant casting plaster. Heat the plaster or sand casting to melt the wax and bring it up to the approximate temperature of the liquid metal, then pour in your heated/liquified metal into the spout that was created by the stem. There are a couple methods of forcing the metal into the small cracks and you'll find them by researching the process.

How many playing pieces are in the game of Monopoly?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Depending on your edition of the game, there are either eight, ten or twelve. Junior editions may have only six tokens. The current, classic edition has eight.

The game was originally released in 1935 with four colored wooden pawns. Parker Brothers acquired the rights to Monopoly in 1936, and released the 1937 version with eight metal playing pieces:

  • Iron
  • Race car
  • Top hat
  • Shoe
  • Thimble
  • Lantern (retired early 1950s)
  • Purse (retired early 1950s)
  • Rocking horse(retired early 1950s)

Two more tokens (the Cannon and Battleship) were added in 1940, after another of Parker Brothers' games, "Conflict," proved to be a commercial flop, raising the total number of pieces to ten. Three of the original pieces (lantern, purse, and rocking horse) were retired in the early 1950s and were replaced with three new designs (the dog, the wheelbarrow, and the horse and rider).

In 1995, Hasbro, which had acquired the rights to the game, added two additional pieces for the release of Monopoly Deluxe, raising the total number of pieces to twelve, but only for versions of the Deluxe Edition.

The twelve deluxe pieces were:

  • Iron (1937)
  • Race car (1937)
  • Top hat (1937)
  • Shoe (1937)
  • Thimble (1937)
  • Battleship (1940)
  • Cannon (1940)
  • Scottie dog (early 1950s)
  • Horse and rider (early 1950s)
  • Wheelbarrow (early 1950s)
  • Locomotive (1995)
  • Money bag (1995)

In 2006, one edition of the game, Monopoly Here and Now, got an entirely new look (see related links) to reflect 21st century culture.

Tokens for this set included:

  • McDonald's fries
  • Cell phone
  • Laptop computer
  • Jet plane
  • Labradoodle dog
  • Starbuck's coffee cup
  • New Balance running shoe
  • Minivan

The eight current, classic pieces are:

  • Scottie dog
  • Iron
  • Race car
  • Thimble
  • Wheelbarrow
  • Top hat
  • Horse and rider
  • Shoe

There are also a number of special editions with Disney, Starwars, Simpsons, Sesame Street, and SpongeBob characters, among others. The Junior editions, such as Sesame Street, typically have only six playing pieces.

How much is a limited edition hot wheels?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

It completely depends on what it is and how old it is. In general, mattel sold most Limited edition Hot Wheels in the $10-$15 range. Most of those cars are readily available on the internet for less. Camaroes and Mustangs seem to hold their value best. Limited cars from the early 1970's may be 1000s of dollars, such as an Ed Shaver AMX. ($5000) Shell limiteds go for a couple of hundred. You would be best served by finding a Tomarts Guide to Hot Wheels or one of the other guides and looking the car up. Expect to get 1/2 the value unless you are looking at rarities.

How can you fix a broken silly bandz?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

someone told me how too idk if it works though. you shape it and put it in a freezer for 4-5 hours then microvave it for 3-5 sec.

or you could put the band on top of a piece of wax paper so that the broken ends touch, put another piece of wax paper on top and either iron on low for 30 seconds or microwave it for thirty seconds.
