What are the lyrics to the song good life by onerepublic?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The good life is what I need

Too many people stepping over me

The only thing that's been on my mind

Is the one thing I need before I die

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

The good life

I don't really know who I am

It's time for me to take a stand

I need a change and I need it fast

I know that any day could be the last

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

Hold on, hold on, I always wanted it this way

(I never wanted it this way)

Hold on, hold on, I always wanted it this way

(We didn't ask for it this way)

I always wanted it this way

The good life

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

All I want is a little of the good life

All I need is to have a good time, oh, the good life

The good life

What is the origin of the word Nissan?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

Nissan or Nisan is a Babylonian translation of the Hebrew calendar month "Abib",

which basically means "spring" as in the season. See the bible book of Esther, chapter 3 verse 7.

"Abib"

was originally the seventh month of the Hebrew calendar (as recorded in the bible book of Genesis, chapter 8 verse 4). However, at the time of the Exodus from Egypt, God commanded the Israelites to make this month the first (see the bible book of Exodus chapter 12, verse 2).

The first of Nisan's festivals is the Passover, originally celebrated on the 14th of the month in Egypt.
It is also noteworthy to mention that Jesus Christ's death is commemorated on this month.

What is the origin of the word mail?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

From Dictionary.com:

"Origin: 1175-1225; ME male (n.) < OF malle< Gmc; cf. OHG mal(a)ha satchel, bag"

basically it is saying that mal(a)ha (satchel or bag) was shortened and worded differently through the ages, but similar to the word male. It possibly originates from the French word "malle" (trunk). The mail was delivered by a stage coach which was called 'la malle-poste" because of the big trunk fixed at the back of the stage coach and which contained the mail.

How To Make Instrumental Karaoke Songs?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The DJ up at my Austin Karaoke bar showed me how to do this, I now make them on a regular basis so I can make sure I have the songs I want and it's high quality.

Step 1: Find the instrumental to the song. Typically if you simply do a search on the internet you can find it believe it or not. A lot of mine I pull off of youtube by searching "<song name> and Instrumental, then I download the youtube video as an mp3.

Step 2: Download a karaoke creator software. You can find some decent ones for free on downloads .com, download it and install. If you're serious about it, consider purchasing a full professional version.

Step 3: Use the program to create it. It's easy, you just import the mp3, then you type in the words to the song. How you make the words go to the music is by hitting the "transcribe" button (sometimes called something different) and then the music starts. You hit the spacebar along with the words and it synchronizes it. You'll see once you get in the program.

Then you just export the completed song and zip it up for the DJ at your bar to upload to his files. It's easy and you get high quality songs - been doing it a long time. Enjoy!

What is origin of the word Folsom?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The word Folsom dates back to 14th century where early Norse text shows the word used to mean "having a small amount," or in more obscure usage, "to frolic," particularly in the countryside or a field. Early forms may been seen written as Folvar, or Folkvar. The "m" ending was adopted in the 16th century after the rewriting of Norway's government dictionary.

Later, the word came into use as a last name for people who made their living working in the fields. Today the word is commonly associated with the Prison in California made famous by Johnny Cash.

What is the origin of the word desire?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

The meaning in English of the Latin verb 'desiderare' is the following: 'to long for someone or something that's absent or lost' or 'to wish for'. Additionally, the Latin word takes on the meaning 'to find a lack of' or 'to miss'. It even may go so far as to mean 'to lose'. And, interestingly enough, the Latin verb finds its origins in the heavenly noun sidus, which refers to 'a constellation', 'a group of stars', or 'a single star'.

What is the literal meaning of karaoke?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

'Karaoke' is used to mean what it means in English -- that is, it refers to singing over pre-recorded music. However, it comes from the Japanese words 'kara' meaning "empty" and 'oke' which is an abbreviation of "orchestra." (Ookesutora in Japanese).

Thus, karaoke is "empty orchestra," or just the musical part of a song without the vocals. In modern karaoke, the main voice or voices have been digitally removed. Originally the term was applied to any prerecorded music rather than an actual orchestra.

Kara (Empty) Oke (orchestra)

Japanese meaning for karaoke?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

I don't know, ask a japanese person.

*Addendum: You moron, that's what they did - you just opened your yap out of turn.

The Japanese love to drink and do business over drinks. They also are a high tech society, and appreciate American music.

Put that all together, and you get a culture that created the karaoke or "empty orchestra" that allows anyone to sing the lead vocals on hit songs.

What is the difference between a soundtrack and a karaoke CD?

User Avatar

Asked by Wiki User

A soundtrack either includes the music used in a movie, or songs that fit with the movie in general. A karaoke CD, on the other hand, is filled with songs that (usually) have the lyrics removed, so you can sing the words yourself.

You could probably find karaoke versions of some songs that appear on soundtracks, true. However, if you try to sing along to the background music of a Transformers fight scene, for example, I for one will be very impressed.
