it could be anything from a clogged fuel filter to a blocked fuel pump, or losing spark in the distributor cap. if your PONTIAC has the PASSLOCK security system in it. turn ignition to on position... but do not start... for (10) ten full min. then turn key OFF for (10) ten more FULL mins. then try to start your car. if this works... REPLACE BATTERY IN KEYFOB (keyless entry keychain device) It may sound crazy but it will work.
Here are possible solutions: * If the battery is good, it's most likely the starter. Bench test the starter, but keep in mind that it might work fine out of the car and still be worn out. * Fuel problem. * The coil electricity is blocking electric to relay.
The calais is not a very common car anymore (and yes, I do own one, but it a 4cyl).
GM puts a few engines in many cars. Please specfiy the engine size (displacement) and you will get an answer.
I know that my 1995 XLT has a brake interlock switch, that doesn"t allow my automatic transmission to shift out of park into gear unless the brake pedal is depressed - I don't know if that is what your problem is.
The can be caused by the sensor getting "gummed up" by the "Dexcool" (GM orange long life anti freeze) The sensor should be removed and cleaned or replaced. It is located on the radiator passenger side about 6 inches down from the top below a transmission cooler line. It can be accessed easier by removing the battery (on the GTP) It is held in by a metal clip. Lower the coolant before removing the clip, clean the sensor and replace. Bleed the system after refilling with coolant. Hope this helps. "G"
Removing the radiator is a pain. Worse it trying to replace it. I bought three of them, sent two back, and saw that the third was almost right. The one that I kept I brought to a radiator shop and the core was a close enough match that they were able to use it to fix the old radiator and I put it back in the car.
If you want to flush it, just use a flush machine.
If you want to drain and fill, it's like any other car.
With any 60 degree GM V6 look for as many as two bleeder valves, and consider using a vacuum fill tool to prevent damaged cylinder heads.
If you want to drain and fill a 2.5L I4 engine, filling is special:
Do not remove the radiator cap. This it important.
1)Remove the thermostat housing cap. Remove the thermostat, then add coolant though the opening.
2)Put the cap on, then start the engine and let it idle for about 15 seconds and shut it off.
3)Remove the thermostat housing cap, top off the antifreeze, then install a new thermostat. Put the cap on.
4) Check and correct fluid level in the overflow bottle.
sounds like the coilpack may be getting hot
There is a tab in the ashtray that has to be held down with a long flathead screwdriver. This tab holds the ashtray in so the tab has to be forced down with a lever to get the ashtray out. Then disconnect the cigarette lighter and you will see the screws that hold the radio in place.
The Holden VK Calais, which is a badged version of the VK Holden Commodore, was manufactured between 1984 and 1986. A total of 135,000 units were manufactured during that time period.
If your engine turns but does not start, first check your interier fuel reset button located, inside under dash driver side on firewall between brake pedle and fuse box. If red button is up, push down to reset. This is there for the event of a colloison or need to do repairs on fuel system. Second, check for spark. To do this remove a plug wire and hold to a ground point (best done with very little light) if you see spark or get a ZAP well you got spark. Third, check or replace fuel relay Located (under the hood drivers side mounted on the back side of your breather) that part cost about 12 dollars. Fourth, if none of the above works check for a fault in the manafold system. O i almost forgot dont forget about your fuel filter you should check that first. I hope that helps you. And if that dont work, make sure that you check fule all areas of your fuel system (pressuer, regulator, fule pump etc.
