Turn your ignition switch to the auxiliary position, without starting the engine. Leave the ignition switch in the auxiliary position for 30 seconds.
In order to remove the rear door panel of 1997 Mercedes Benz e420, you need to drill out the rivets that hold that hold the door panel. Once that is done you should remove the panel in a careful manner so as not to break the plastic clips.Ê
A broken blend air door is the most likely cause on a Jeep Grand Cherokee.
ou have to pull your ashtray out and there is 2 screws in the slot where the ashtray slides in.Make sure you turn your radio off and keep the keys out of the ignition when your removing it or it will lock itself and you will have to get a unlock code for it to work again. After you take those screws out you pull the panel off and you can see how the radio pulls out.
There are four locks for the removable hardtop. Two are located above each sun visor between the roof and the frame around the windshield. The other two are located on each side in the rear area near the front of each rear side glass. There is a special wrench that is used to turn these locks. Put the wrench into the slot and turn them counterclockwise about 1/4 of a turn. When all four are unlocked, the top lifts off -- best done by two people.
A screw driver can be used if you do not have the wrench. When putting the roof back on, turn the locks clockwise, making sure that the roof is securely fastened.
I used the Napa brand tool, #3355 which cost about $12.00. I will also needed a #50 Torx bit to remove the caliper assy. update- found Napa tool #3163 a better fit, matches the 3/4 inch cube description..
You will need a special tool (3/4 inch cube that snaps on to ratchet wrench) to turn in the pistons on the rear calipers.
You need a shop manual to get that information. If you want to know what goes where with regards to fuses, take off the fuse cover panel and turn it over. It lists where each fuse, and what it controls. It also tells you the size of each fuse that's needed. Of course you know that the fuse panel is in the passenger side directly underneath the glove box.
On the 1976 models, you have two sets of slide controls and two knobs....its not really a climate control type of system since there isn't a rheostat to maintain a selected temperature. Its been a while, but I think all 4 slides in the up position is for defrost. The two slides with red markings are for the heater, and the two white ones are for fresh air and I believe also control the vents for the A/C. When you have all the slides in the white section, turn the blue knob on the dash to activate the A/C If your car has a central, push button control panel that says 'Climate Control', I don''t think you have a 1976 car. That system came out in 1978 I think, or late 1977. That system was nightmare to service.
