The crankshaft pulley has broken causing the outer ring to slide forward into the fan assy. replace your crankshaft pulley and all will be well
I need a video or diagram on How to remove a crankshaft pulley from a V6 4.0L jeepit looks like my coolant is leaking because the seal needs replaced. Have you ever or is there something I'm missing
Inside the engine. It is the part that spins and has the pistons attached to it. The flywheel bolts to it on one and and the front pulley drives the belt.
If I remember right that would be the water pump so you probly need a new one.
It runs off of the front of the crankshaft, under the crank sprocket and crank pulley. You have to to remove the timing chain/belt.
In an Inline 6 Jeep engine, the idler pulley is located to the right of the A/C pulley. It is a smooth pulley, not a grooved one.
Just to get it off? Try using a single edge razor blade. It will have what is called an idler pulley probably, most do, This pulley serves only one purpose, to keep the belt tight. This pulley can be levered, probably to a slack position, usually downward and the belt can then be removed.
The 2007 Jeep Wrangler takes a special jeep-only, dealer-only rear wiper blade. Its best to ask the dealer for the procedure when you go in to buy the replacement blade.
The crankshaft sensor on a 4.0L Jeep Grand Cherokee is mounted on the top driver side of the transmission bell housing.
It is located in front of the drive pulley assembly. Yes it could cause no spark and no start. The sensor costs 70.00 to 120.00. on the average.
i am having this same problem and i couldn't figure out why this was because when i inspected the pulley it appeared to be up against the engine, but i just figured out that the pulley is acually two pieces (the pulley and vibration dampener that it sits on) that can separate and cause the pulley to move towards your fan. you will need to replace the pulley/vibration dampener. You will probably need to expose your flywheel and have a friend put something against it to keep the engine from turning over when doing this.
The 2008 Jeep Liberty takes a dealer-only wiper blade. To my knowledge there are no aftermarkets available. Ask the dealer for installation instructions when you purchase the blade.
