The Sclera of the eye is the outermost layer which gives the white colour to the white part of the eye. Posteriorly it is continuous with the outer surrounding of the optic nerve called the Dural Sheeth. At the front the sclera is a a bulbous, clear section called the Cornea. This is the anteriormost part of the eye and thus of the sclera.
