* Check the casualty's level of response by shouting and carefully shaking the shoulders. * If the casualty is unresponsive, check breathing and pulse, and be prepared to resuscitate if necessary. Place the casualty in the recovery position. * Assess the need to contact a medical practitioner or the emergency service. * Protect the casualty from the cold, by insulating from the ground, and covering with a coat or blanket.

Alcohol does not have corrosive properties, so I'll assume you mean a burn one gets from burning alcohol. In this case, treat it as any other burn.

  • Wet, cool, clean packs from 1st degree burns
  • FOr second degree burns with smaller blisters, keep them clean and don't pop them -- they'll do that on their own -- use a loose, dry, clean dressing and dont mess around with ointment. Larger blisters may need medical treatment.
  • Third degree burns, cover with a clean, dry loose dressing and transport.

You can get alcohol burns- by applying alcohol to your skin for a long period of time!

For the most part it is correct that if you have 1st degree burn you are in a pretty good condition- rinse the chemical off with a room temperature water for at least 20 minutes. You can apply Aloe Vera to replenish moisture of the skin. Second degree burns- tricky, what ever you do , do not force blisters to pop open and if they do, do not put anything on them but a sterile band aid to prevent infections. For the third degree burn- cover up the burn with sterile dressing and go to the emergency room to get professional help.

Treat as any other burn. With alcohol in pure form, you know it is flamable and leaves no toxic residue, so there's no HAZMAT concern and there IS a concern for fire safety.
