Technically, it doesn't matter how long you charge a lithium battery. The charger will shut off at full charge. The concern is to charge it enough to use it. Lithium batteries are sensitive to charging, but the charger handles it. You can't overcharge them and undercharging only shortens how long until you have to charge it again. Think of lithiums as a "electron tank" into which you can push electrons or draw them out, exactly like putting water into or draining from a water tank.

The life of a lithium is also like the life of a water tank. A water tank doesn't care how many times you fill and empty it, but eventually a hole rusts through. Lithium batteries fail from internal corrosion, and it's almost independent of usage. You can't shorten or lengthen it by how you use it, unless you very seriously drain it, but usually anything powered by Lithium batteries will shut off before you damage the cells, like the charger shuts off before you can over charge.

There is one reason to charge it maybe 12 hours the first time. Most devices using lithium batteries build an internal estimate of battery life. Again, you can't hurt it, but for example if you haven't fully charged the battery a few times, a laptop might say you have 2 hours left when you actually have 4 hours, or one.

Be sure you never try to charge a lithium battery with a charger not specifically designed to charge it, or you can have a fire. Likewise, Everready AA lithium cells are NOT rechargeable. Don't try.
