I have an iTouch.
For the iTouch here's what you do:
1) Hook it up to your computer
2) Open up iTunes*
3) Restore it**
*You will lose everything but at least you can open up your iPod!
**You can put all your data (music, photos, videos, apps, etc) back after your iPod
password is retrieved.
