Some historical events from the book The True Confessions of Charlotte Doyle are just things that happened in the passed in this book. Basically she goes on a ship to meet her father. But along the way there are some hard sailors. But one sailor was friendly. His name was Zacharia, he was an old man that was in charge of cooking he was Charlotte's friend. On their way to meet Charlotte's father headmaster or known to be 'boss', Charlotte made a friend too with the pilot but that friendship did not last long. Their was this time when Zacharia was to get a whipping from the captain but Charlotte accidentally slapped the captain in hip face with the whip when she was taking it away. Up until then, the captain was furious.
