Why Date marking frozen food is NOT necessary because freezing food keeps food safe to eat indefinitely as long as the food remains frozen?
The word 'frozen' is not a noun. The word 'frozen' is the past participle of the verb to freeze. The past participle of the verb also functions as an adjective. Examples: We'll cook some of these carrots and the rest can be frozen. (verb) In winter we ice skate on the frozen pond. (adjective) The noun forms of the verb to freeze are freezer and the gerund, freezing.
I suppose that would depend on how long it has been in the freezer. If it's been there for over a year, then it might just be worth it to go buy a new one. However, it should be completely fine to use. Even meat, when frozen, can be thawed and consumed within 6-12 months after its normal expiry date. So, I wouldn't be worried. :)

Bacteria aren't going to grow in the freezer, so quality issues will be with freezer burn and rancidity. If they are stored in the refrigerator, you'll have to use your nose to see if they are still good to use, but try to…
What if a frozen food item says best used by can you still eat it if its past the best used by date?
You can still eat food if it is past the "best if used by" date. The best if used by date is just an estimation of when foods start to loose quality. For moderate amounts of time past the best by date, a good way to determine if it's still edible is to look at it and smell it. If there is anything questionable about it, don't eat it.
Pies are not good forever since they do expire because of them being a baked good, most pies will expire between a minimum of 2 days and a maximum of 4 days past their expiration date if they're in the refrigerator and they will last between 6 to 9 months past their date if they're placed in the freezer.
'Frozen' works both ways. An object can be presently in a frozen state and thus 'is frozen'. The past tense, 'was frozen', indicates either 1) something that was once frozen but perhaps now is not ('the steak was frozen, but it tasted good') or 2) the freezing process, as in 'this object was frozen last Thursday'.
