GRAND AM 2001 How do I remove the reverse light compartment on bottom right of your bumper took the light out and didn't replace it right away now it's full of water?
Remove the retaining nuts holding the housing in then push the light assembly outward from the rear fascia. I just had the same problem with my '03 Grand AM GT. Well, similar problem - in my case somehow the socket was dislodged and I found the harness hanging down with the reminents of the light bulb! Needless to say I had nice pool of water in the reverse light housing.
First, remove the nut from the middle of the bumper, and then remove the nut from the the mounts at each rail frame. Then remove the nut or screw holding the bumper to the car at the area of the wheel. Remove the old bumper, put on the new bumper, and replace the screws in nuts in the reverse order.Ê
Its really not too awefully difficult. Just takes some time. Its easiest to access the lights from the bottom side of the bumper. You will have to take out the 3 or so plastic 'bumper bolts' that hold the bottom of the bumper on.
