It could be the fuel pump, fuel filter, alternator, or the relay switch.
Probably the alternator is bad. Once the jumper cables are removed, there is no source for ignition if the alternator is bad. Have it tested and replaced if necessary.
If an alternator light keeps coming off and on, this may indicate that the voltage output of the vehicle is going up and down intermittently. This may mean the alternator may need to be replaced soon.
I had this problem on my disco 1. Turned out to be the alternator, which was replaced and the problem was fixed.
Starter Ignition Neutral switch
Try an ignition switch.
?ignition control module/pickup
Check to see if you are getting spark (coil) and fuel
The regulator is in the engine computer not the alternator.
depends on what type of car old hondas had a pop out in the trunk
The computer only resets when the battery is removed. The alternator just charges the battery, so if the battery is left connected when the alternator is replaced, the computer should not reset.
I had this camaro sent to a Chevy dealer to be repaird. They said they replaced the ignition switch. I found out that they replaced the ORANGE wire coming from the ignition to the CCM. That's the orange wire that has 2 wires inside the 1 orange wire.
We replaced the alternator on 2 different vehicles. It was around $175 for each.
Inside the alternator
Inside the alternator, some are easily replaced and some are soldered in place.
fuel pressure regulator
In most cases an alternator will last well over 100,000 miles
There are a lot of things that could be wrong. If you hear a clicking noise, it could be: -the alternator isn't charging the battery so it won't have the power to at least turn over -the battery is dead from other reasons than the alternator -wiring is grounded out somewhere along the ignition wiring -bad ignition switch -bad relay -bad fuse -ignition coil is defective -distributor cap is defective -rotor needs to be replaced ....sorry there are a million reasons....try check the battery and alternator and go from there...
Loosen the tensioner bolt on your 1997 Kia alternator. Move the alternator to the left. The alternator belt will become loose and can be replaced.
Remove the wiring harness from the back of your 1995 Chrysler LHS alternator. Remove the alternator belt. Remove the alternator retaining bolts. The alternator will come off and can be replaced with the new alternator.
The 1995 Infinity alternator can be replaced by removing the alternator belt. Removing the wiring harness from the back of the alternator. Removing the alternator retaining bolts. Put the new alternator on and reverse the process.
The alternator tell, can be replaced by loosening the tensioner pulley. With the tensioner pulley loose the belt will easily come off and can be replaced.
The voltage regulator in the alternator can cause issues like this when they start to go bad. The voltage regulator is an integrated part of the alternator and cannot be replaced, if it is bad, the entire alternator must be replaced.
The voltage regulator on all Escorts is inside the alternator. It is an integral part of the alternator and the alternator has to be replaced to fix it.
Maybe the batter is dead or you got another bad alternator.
