Tonya, Do you have a Haynes manual? Chilton's produced a two volume set on Italian and Swedish cars during the 70s that is much better. Check your fuse--I presume you are using the original "bullet" type German fuses--is it the correct amperage? Check your wiring schema--what else is on the fuse that you can live without? If it's feeding back into the fuse block, how are your condensers (1-2?) faring?

Pull the plastic cover off the top (head) of your engine the coils are lined up on the top of your engine. Next you will need to unplug the coils from the connecting wires. After you unplug them you can simply pull the ignition coils out and replace them with your new ones.
if its a quad 4 engine, you must remove the top engine cover to reveal ignition assembly. not a cheap part to replace. replace plugs only when misfiring.
A 'spark ignition ' engine is your regular gasoline engine as opposed to a diesel, which is a 'compression ignition' engine
The key and the ignition lock are badly worn. Try a different key if it doesn't fix it you need to replace the ignition lock.
