Can't help without pictures
Yes, I have two, one holster and one rig.
Impossible to answer without a detailed description of the condition.
I would think the year stamped on the back should indicate some information when holster was manufactured. I have the same holster you describe and I have a stamp of 1915.
Hi I have a chain that is marked 777 is this real gold thanks
if your Colt pistol is a 45 cal. pistol then it would be made about 1913. Probably saw action in WW1. No way of finding user(s) or who it was assigned to during service... Rock Island holster is a well known holster maker. Initials are probably those of service member who carried it.............
100-1000 USD or so
Iver Johnson was located in Fitchburg, Mass, from 1883 to 1984, never actually in Boston, but I suppose they could have marked items with the name of a more widely recognized nearby city. The name "Iver Johnson & Co" was used from 1871 to 1891, so your holster was probably made during that time.
only pig skin leather can be identified by many small holes on it. It is due to deeper hair of pig which marked these holes. So, it is usually used inside the shoes and leather jacket are made. It is difficult to identified other animal leather with naked eyes.
My deerslayer doesn't have any Ser# marked on the receiver. I was told that early productions from the 1960's didn't have them on the receiver but somewhere else...Can anyone tell me anything? Thanks, Chris workinmynerves@yahoo.com
value would depend on overall condition. 'good'can mean many things to different people. Pics always tell the condition
$600-$900, depending on markings, accesories, magazine, holster, etc.
