It sounds as if the clevis connector for the clutch master cylinder may be incorrectly adjusted too far out. Removing the cotter retaining pin and the pin that attaches the clevis to the clutch pedal and turning the adjustment nut to shorten the clutch 'travel' should fix the problem. (or if you had a shop do the clutch replacement, bring it back to the shop and have them correctly adjust the clutch master cylinder travel) Hope this helps
inspect, look, listen, clean and feel A compression test will also help.
Take it to a local PepBoys they can scan if you have a check engine light on and from there I can help you more with diagnosing a misfire incase you have multiple problems
May be in the fuse block under the rear seat on the drivers side. For more help visit our enthusiasts forum at www.trailvoy.com
how old is the astra? but more importantly what engine and gearbox does it have? early engines with certain manual gearboxes you can change the clutch without removing the gearbox and subsequently saving about 4hours labour time. otherwise it is a gearbox outjob.
This is the same procedure as removing a clutch from a car or small truck, only much bigger and way heavier. You must remove the transmission to gain access to the clutch disc, pressure plate, and flywheel. This is accomplished by removing the drive shaft and then removing the transmission with the help of a special jack. Several other parts must usually be removed, such as the starter, gear shift, clutch linkage, throwout bearing, pilot bearing, and universal joints. Unless you have access to the proper heavy-duty tools required, do not attempt this on your own as the parts are very heavy and it is very easy to get injured in this type of situation.
IT IS BEST TO CONSULT A HAYNES MANUAL FOR THE MOST COMPREHENSIVE INSTRUCTIONS. Basic removal of fan shroud. Disconnect electrical connection to fan clutch. Drain coolant through lower rad hose. If you are very careful and good, you can remove pump, etc. without removing the rad. If you don't feel lucky - remove the rad. Clockwise undo of fan clutch bolt. THERE IS A RENTABLE TOOL TO HELP with this step. Remove fan clutch, then the water pump. The only thing basically different are the clips on the shroud and the electrical sensor connection to the fan clutch. It has to be reconnected or you will throw a code and get reduced engine power.
