It is an exciting day when you have the resources and the home to support a granite purchase. Most people view this as a rite of passage and that's an accurate assessment. But there are so many granite dealers out there. How do you choose from among these different people? How do you know which one is the best and which is likely to provide you with the best stone? Though there is no hard line rule for choosing your granite dealers, the following are some things to look for when choosing a professional. Are they GIA certified? This should be the first question you ask every time. Does this granite dealer have his GIA certification. The Granite Institute of America is the most respected board in the world of stone, so if a dealer is certified, you can bet he is selling the right kind of stone. This is a quick way to check and make sure that the granite you are getting is as legit as possible. If you work with one of these people, you are removing almost all of the risk associated with making a huge, unknown purchase.Asking about experienceYou should work with a granite dealer that has been around the block at least a time or two. Some granite dealers burst onto the scene and start picking stone right and left. Though you might get the right kind of stone working with one of these people, you are more likely to get a great selection if you're working with an experienced dealer. They will be able to find not only the best stone, but they best deal for you.Leaning on your granite dealerYou should choose one of the granite dealers that provides more than just stone. Can you lean upon them to help you make a great decision? Many granite dealers give you advice on what would look best in your home. After all, these are the people who make a living working with this stuff every day. Choose one of the dealers that can give you this kind of service and you will be more satisfied with your experience in the end.
