What happens at an LDS wedding depends on whether the wedding is held in a Temple or in another location, such as in a Church or outdoors.

For an LDS Temple wedding, the couple will only be able to invite a small group of people that are members of the Church to witness their ceremony. Usually, a 'sealing ' room (where the marriages are performed) only fits about 20 people in it. The couple will first meet with the man who will perform the 'sealing' or wedding, give him their marriage license, and sign some paperwork to make this a legal marriage. They will then change into their wedding clothes in the temple, which must be all white, with a long sleeved floor length dress for the bride and white pants, shirt, and tie for the groom. Most temples have a special room for the bride to get ready for the wedding. Following this, they are lead into the sealing room, where family and friends are waiting. After receiving some marriage advice from the sealer, they will kneel across an altar and the sealer will bless their marriage to last throughout time and all eternity. After hugs and congratulations from those in attendance, they may go back to the dressing rooms to change. Often, couples who marry in the temple change into a second wedding outfit for photos (many brides choose to have a short sleeve dress, or the groom might want a black suit, etc.) Photos are then taken outside the temple with family and friends, whether Church members or not. Many Mormon couples choose to have a Temple wedding because they believe that those 'sealed' or married inside the temple will be together for 'time and all eternity', but marriages outside the temple are only 'until death do you part'.

Some couples choose to have a wedding in a church, outdoors, or in another location. This is perfectly acceptable within the Church, and often these couples later are 'sealed' in the temple, although they must face a year-long waiting period. The Church offers its Church meetinghouses for weddings free of charge, and the Bishop of the congregation is also able to legally perform the wedding free of charge as well. He may also perform the wedding at another location. Mormons may also choose to be married by a civil authority or a minister of another religion as well. These weddings are typical of secular weddings, where the bride walks down the aisle to the groom, they say their vows, and then are pronounced husband and wife. Some who get married in the temple may choose to have a second ceremony like this so that friends and family who could not be in the temple may attend.

Most couples will choose to hold a wedding reception afterward. These vary depending on the preferences of the couple and how many guests are invited. Typically there is a light meal or desserts, music, and dancing. The Bride and Groom will cut the cake. Other traditions, such as the Bride throwing her bouquet, will occur at the reception.

Its well a wedding. The main stream Mormon church not even close to the fundamentalists Church of Jesus of Latter Day Saints (FLDS) are normal Christians. Only we marry in a temple of God.

-----

This depends on where the wedding is. Some members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) choose to have a traditional wedding in a church, reception center, or outdoors. These a just like any other typical wedding. Mormons believe that these types of weddings dissolve at death, and that the couple will not be together in heaven.

Mormons are encouraged to marry in the Temple. They believe that if they are married in the temple, they will be together in heaven. In a temple marriage, there are very few guests as only close family or friends who are church members are permitted to attend. For these weddings, there is no walking down the aisle, the bride and groom enter the room together and kneel across from each other at an altar. A 'sealer' (man with the authority to seal the couple together on earth and in eternity) then pronounces a blessing on them, and he and the guests take turns congratulating them and giving them advice. For temple marriages, the bride and groom must both wear all white, and the bride must wear a simple full length long sleeve white dress. (see photos below)

Typically Mormon couples who have a temple wedding will have a large reception afterward for guests who were not able to attend the ceremony. Most couples married in the temple will have clothes other than their white clothes that they will wear for photos and the reception. The bride's reception and photo dress usually has sleeves and a modest neckline in keeping with Mormon modesty standards.

Most members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) choose to be married in the temple. Mormons believe that those who are married in the temple will be together forever, not just 'until death do you part'. In order to be married in the temple, both the bride and groom must be active, faithful Mormons for at least one year. Typically, there are very few guests, only family and close friends. The ceremony guests must also be active faithful Mormons. At a temple wedding ceremony, the bride and groom must wear all white. The groom must wear white shoes, pants, shirt, and tie. The bride must wear a white floor length dress with long sleeves. They will enter a 'sealing' or marriage room together, where the guests are waiting. The man performing the ceremony, the 'sealer', will give the couple some marriage advice. The bride and groom will then kneel across from each other at an altar located in the center of the room. The sealer will then bless them and they will exchange rings and kiss across the altar. The guests then congratulate the couple. As no Photography is allowed during the temple ceremony, most couples choose to have photos taken outside the temple with their guests. Many Mormon brides choose to have a short sleeve dress for the photos and reception, rather than the long sleeve dress they wore for the ceremony. Most Mormon couples who choose a temple wedding will have a large reception afterwards. Mormon wedding receptions are similar to any other and usually feature traditions like cutting the cake, tossing the bouquet, dancing, food, and toasts. As Mormons don't drink alcohol, it is rare for alcohol to be served at Mormon wedding receptions. Some couples who choose a temple ceremony also have a 'ring ceremony' afterward for family and friends who cannot attend the temple. This is similar to a traditional wedding ceremony.

Mormons may choose to have a more traditional wedding outside the temple. These ceremonies are just like any other traditional western wedding. Mormons are welcome to use their local church buildings free of charge for weddings, or they may choose to use a reception/banquet hall, home, or outdoor location. Mormon Bishops officiate marriages for free as well, so many Mormon couples choose to be married by their Bishop rather than a hired minister or justice of the peace. Those Mormons who are not married in the temple have the opportunity to be 'sealed' in the temple later on.

How long is Mormon non temple wedding ceremony?

The length of a Mormon wedding ceremony outside of the temple is up to the couple and depends on their family and cultural traditions. Most often the wedding ceremony simply consists of the saying of vows and a short blessing and pronouncement of the marriage, just like any wedding ceremony. Some couples may choose to have a special song or poem. I have attended many Mormon wedding ceremonies, both in and out of the temple. They ranged from 10 to 30 minutes.
