the difference between the renaissance and the middle ages is that the middle ages was a time of survival and religious belives. During the middle ages people still believed in god. Also, there were many raids, and travel was not safe. People focused on getting enough food and survivng in the harsh way of life. The middle ages is known as the dark ages because of how harsh people lived. On the other hand the renaissance was of time of rebith, invention, and bring back the classic ways of the Greek and Roman ideas. People lived in luxury and enjoyed life unlike the people of the medival era, otherwise known as the middle ages.

Middle Ages is war and Renaissance is rebirth

-----

The Middle Ages is broken up into three stages Early Middle Ages 476-1000 high Middle Ages 100-1300 and Late Middle Ages 1300-1527 the government was not centralized and the art work was centered around the church normally in 2d and not proportional. Feudalsim and the system of vassalge is important. The renaissance is the french word for rebirth this was the revival of classical norms and ideals a popular movement being the Humanism movement. Writings of the time such as Divine Comedy and Decameron showed the response to the black death that shook the hemisphere in the 1300s. Art showed the classical simple style and also the response to the black death as in i think it was called the prince of the world..? i would double check that name. but art work was more dimensional and proportional and idealized more topics besides just religion.

The Middle Ages otherwise known as The Dark Ages started when the Roman Empire fell bringing with it the halt of education, philosophy, and reasoning that Rome was known for.

Reading, writing, art and acting simply stopped and with education no longer available to everyone humanity declined back to superstition, suspicion, and brutal warfare and lets not forget the Burning Times brought on by the Catholic Church.

The Renaissance was marked by the return of thought, reason, learning and experimentation. Artists such as Michelangelo and Leonardo DaVinci created great works the likes of which had never been seen before as well as DaVinci's inventions and schematics.

So really the Middle Ages and the Renaissance were completely different.
