Most adult members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints (the "Mormon" church) choose to participate in a special Temple ceremony called the "Endowment". During this ceremony, a person makes covenants or promises with God and is given a sacred garment to remind them of these promises. This garment is worn under the clothing, and so is often referred to by non-Mormons as "Mormon underwear". Since the garment is considered sacred it is not to be photographed, but I can describe it to you.
The garment comes in many different styles but the biggest differences are that it provides more coverage than most modern underwear and that it is always white. Both men and women are required to wear a top and bottom (a one-piece style is also available but not very popular) The most popular style for men and women is similar to a short sleeve t-shirt and athletic shorts. It is just like a man wearing a white undershirt and white boxer shorts or boxer briefs. There are also long sleeve tops and calf or ankle length bottoms, which are common in cold climates. Special women's tops for pregnancy and nursing are also available. The garment comes in different fabrics just like normal underwear, such as cotton, cotton/poly, and silky polyester as well as thermal.
Another difference is that the garment cannot be purchased at a typical store. Even though some styles look similar to regular underwear, they must be purchased from the Church and made by Church members in a Church-owned factory. This is to preserve the sacredness of the garment. The Church sells the garment online and through a handful of Church supply centers at a nominal price, comparable to most regular underwear.
Mormons who have not participated in the Endowment ceremony do not wear the garment, they wear whatever type of underwear they choose.
It could be Mormon Magic Underwear.
"Mormon Underwear" are also known as garments. These garments are worn by members of the LDS church who have entered the temple and made covenants with the Lord. The garments are a reminder and an outward expression of those covenants made with God. There are MANY LDS members who have never been through the temple but are still active members of the Church. No... "Mormon Underwear" or GARMENTS are NOT required to be a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.
