There are a number of differences between Neanderthal and modern human anatomy:
Neanderthal:
Modern human:
These differences are probably related to the ice-age conditions in which the Neanderthals lived.

They had no chins. Their faces, from their eyebrows to their mouth, were vertically longer. Modern human have faces( from the eyebrows down) that have descended and retracted back, and our foreheads have extended forward. that's why only humans have faces that are beneath their skulls.
Also, from the side, the human skull is more soccer ball shaped, while the neanderthal one was more like a football.

Shorter, stockier, bigger muscles, expanded ribcage with larger lungs.
Physically, Neanderthals had a larger body mass, bigger muscles, an expanded ribcage that housed larger lungs, a weak chin and a prominent brow ridge.

they had a bigger jaw and a more pronounced brow rigde (the neanderthals)
Shorter and stockier. Weak chin, prominent brow ridge, pale skin, probably red hair and they were hella ugly bruh
Less than one percent.
Neanderthals were hominids.
Compared to modern humans ? Yes. They were stockier and more robust.
the early modern humans lived a farming lifestyle while the neanderthals still were nomadic people
They were humans. The difference in DNA between Neanderthals and modern humans is less than one percent.
neanderthals
Homo sapiens are modern humans. Neanderthals are a separate species of human that went extinct 27,000 years ago.
Fair skin and red hair are caused by different genes in modern humans, than they were in Neanderthals.

AnswerCro-Magnons arrived in Europe about 35,000 years ago and lived in Europe about the same time as the Neanderthals, but were physically quite different from Neanderthals. Some see them as virtually indistuinguishable from modern humans.

Shorter than modern humans, and stockier.
Their brain size was the same as modern humans.
Shorter than modern humans, but stockier.
neanderthals
Modern humans can be traced back to both Anatomically modern Homo Sapiens and Neanderthals. Anatomically Modern Homo Sapiens share all the same physical characteristics of humans evolved in Africa about 200,000 years ago. Neanderthals also evolved 200,000 years ago but went extinct while AM Homo Sapiens lived on. Neanderthals share a great deal of characteristics with modern humans and anthropologist have suggested that Neanderthals and AM Homo Sapiens may have interbred.
It said that modern humans, homo sapiens sapiens, did not evolve from homo neanderthalensis, but some new studies suggest that some modern humans have Neanderthals in their ancestry.
