Pig digestive tracts and nutritional needs are very similar to humans. Pigs also have hearts that are similar in size and makeup to the human heart. Pig heart valves are used to replace defective human heart valves.

One major difference between humans and pigs are that pigs have 38 chromosomes and humans have 46. Another big difference is that pigs walk on four legs and humans walk on two. Also, humans have opposable thumbs, pigs do not.
