Erosion is the process in which sediment moves from one location to another.

Do not get this confused with deposition, which is the process in which sediment is dropped (deposited) in a new location.

On my calculation . . .Sedimentary rock is the type of rock that is formed by sedimentation of material at the Earth's surface and within bodies of water. Sedimentation is the collective name for processes that cause mineral and/or organic particles (detritus) to settle and accumulate or minerals to precipitate from asolution. Particles that form a sedimentary rock by accumulating are called sediment. Before being deposited, sediment was formed by weathering and erosion in a source area, and then transported to the place of deposition bywater, wind, mass movement orglaciers.

What carries the sediment away?

Wind, water, glaciers, and gravity are capable or transporting sediment.

What carries away sediment?

Wind, water, glaciers, and gravity are capable or transporting sediment.

What are three forces that can carry sediment?

Wind, water, and gravity, ice (i.e Glaciers with rocks frozen in them.) -Wind- Picks up sediment and blows it to another place - Water, Carries sediment with... flowing water - Gravity- Making sediments fall down (I.e landslides) - Ice - Rocks with ice in them. (i.e Glaciers with rocks frozen in them.) Falls off when thawed.

What are four ways that gravity moves sediment and rock?

Through landslides, mudslides, running water, and glaciers.

How gravity play a role in the movement of glaciers?

That's what causes them to move.

In what ways can sediment enter a river?

mass movement and gravity

How are sediments moved about?

Mostly By water from river.... than Air, Glaciers etc.

Any one of several processes by which gravity moves sediment downhill?

Mass Movement.

What agents of erosion are assisted by the force of gravity?

The agents of erosion are: running water, glaciers, waves, and wind. # I would say that wind is the top agent of erosion that is assisted by gravity because gravity pulls down the sediments that the wind is eroding. # Running water is probably the second because gravity is the force that moves rock and other materials downhill, so if running water is moving downhill, gravity helps it. # Finally, glaciers is another agent assisted by gravity because glaciers also move downhill taking down eroded sediment with it.

What includes several processes caused by gravity that move sediment downhill?

mass movement is the CORRECT answer to this question. :)

What are the processes caused by gravity that move sediment downhill?

Generally, these processes are referred to as transportation, the movement of sediment during erosion, via wind, ice, or water.

Erosion that occurs when gravity alone causes rock or sediment to move down a slope?

The type of erosion that occurs when gravity alone causes rock or sediment to move down a slope is called mass movement. The types of mass movement are creep, slump, rock slides, and mudflows.
