Both Biomes exhibit very similar traits: Barren, little to no life, harsh conditions, and extreme temperatures. Both are considered "deserts", by the definition of receiving very little precipitation. As far as differences: A Tundra is much colder. This exhibits the extreme colds on our planet. Life forms that live here are highly adapted to very little food, and to these cold temperatures. Very few plant species exist here. (with some exceptions). In the Antarctic region, many life forms are adapted to hunt in the ocean, this being the primary source of food around. Deserts are much warmer. They are the extreme hots of the planet, but some deserts drop to very low temperatures at night. Many lifeforms here are adapted to this heat and find shelter during the hot days--there are very few diurnal (active during the day) animals, most are either nocturnal (active at night) or crepuscular (active at dawn and/or dusk). Plants are very rare but more common than tundras. Common examples are cactus. Animals here struggle for water much more than that of tundra animals. Also many creatures in the desert are cold blooded, where as many tundra animals are warm blooded
It can get very very cold in the desert at night and a tundra is very cold all theough the year the desert during the day can get very hot
The Tundra is very cold and dry, less than 20 inches of rain a year, while on the other hand Grasslands have about 25+ inches of rain a year and is very lush in some places.
A grassland usually has much more plant life than a desert and more rainfall each year. It can, therefore, support a greater number of animals than a desert.
tundra is permanently frozen ground loke up in the northern parts of Canada and the desert is a sea of sand and stone and dried shrubbery like in the Navadas.
Both have low precipitation and limited vegetation.
well a rain forest is mostly wet and has more plants and animals.
a desert is manly dry and has fewer animals and plants then a rain forest.
No, they are distinct biomes. They are not the same although they do share some similar conditions such as low precipitation.
a tropical forest has a lot of rain. a coastal forest has no rain.
There is no difference between rain and rainfall
Rain Forest Climates are usually very wet and humid, desert climates are usually hot and dry, and savannah climates are usually in the dry, 70's.
in a tropical rainforest the soil is darker than the soil in the desert the soil is lighter
I think you sweat in the rainforest because it is kind of like a desert.
Sahel
Dirt on the bottom and air on top. And that about it for simularities.
no its on the desert
rain forest or desert
Desert. Rain-forests are more up north east.
Costa Rica does not have a desert ,but it does have a lot of rain forest.
A Desert.
Ethiopia has the Eastern Desert which is the Sahara Desert.
desert soil is dry and prairie gets an average amount of rain
