∙ 13y agoA Maltese should be about 4-8 lbs. (A 4 lb. Maltese is a teacup size)--Some Maltese (if they are big) can weigh up to 9 or 10 lbs., but that is pretty unusual.
I have one that is around 6 lbs. but her weight depends on how many treats I give her, so sometimes she weighs about 7 lbs.

it depends opn how young they both are. Maltese usually stick to their owners and get very jealous and protective when they are older. If the Maltese and shar-pei are both young, then yes, they should. Plus, the maltest may be scared of sucha big dog, so you may have to teach the shar-pei to not be aggressive towards the Maltese.
