Through body language and verbal. Like Neighing, nickering, roaring, groaning, sighing, coughing, snorting and blowing to name a few. But horses rely mostly on body language like tail slashing, tail tucking, ear pinning, backing up, tossing head, snaking, pawing, raising legs, chomping, teeth grinding, head lowering and again, that's only naming a few. Horses have their own vast world of communication just like us humans, though theirs is much more strait forward then ours.

Horses have an interesting way of communicating to each other and humans. Horses communicate a lot with their ears, if their ears are perked up and moved around they are probably listening to some sort of sound, whether your voice or something around them. If they are made they will lay their ears flat on their head. If you are not used to a horse watch their ears to see if they are mad, happy, or curious.

Through body language. Their eyes and ears indicate alot. If you see the whites of their eyes, most of the time it's because they're scared. Horses move their ears to where they are listening. If a horses ears are pinned back he is angry. If a horses back leg is bent, he is resting. Once you know a horse pretty well, they'll find a way to tell you what they need to.

An easy question to answer! Horses generally cummunicate all the time, by swishing their tails, their ears, body language, and neighs, nickers, whinnies, snorts, and grunts. Horses can even communicate through sound we can't hear. The can make soft noises that are inaudible to the human ears, but they can hear. Sometimes they can hear it from a distance.

Mostly body language! like for example... If a horse gets scared or angry they pin there ears to there head, and lift there head high! A calm horse lets his/her head down low and relaxed.

Horses communicate through doing allot of things. If a mare walks into a pasture and wants the grain she's going to get it unless the horses don't see that shes warning them she'll pin her ears, warn to kick, then kick but she will never just jump right in there and start kicking. When a horse whats a buddy they nicker and prance it's a way to say I'm over here. They give signals to each other stand each other well.

Horses use body language for most inter-herd communications, but they will also use vocal sounds to communicate with horses farther away.
