First, there is no such thing as a perfect personality. However, the easiest way to find out if someone has been seeing a psycologist or some other type of mental health professional is to wait for the appropriate time to ask that person something to the effect of "have you talked with a therapist about that?". Besides that, it takes a long time to get to know someone.

∙ 13y agoA personality disorder is a deeply ingrained pattern of thought and behavior that develops over many years, especially the formative years, and they can have many destructive effects. A personality disorder can disrupt your personal life, your family life, your friendships, indeed, everything in your life. While medications help somewhat in some cases, the best treatment for personality disorders is cognitive therapy.

eg.In borderline PD you can have
self harm
suicide gestures/attempts
angry outbursts
impulsivity which can vary from risky sex,binging,speeding,stealing...
Most of these behavior pattern are not positive ,hence the "disorder"
