You need to ensure that each line conductor is correctly identified. If you replace them in the wrong sequence, then the new machine will run backwards when you energise it! It may be necessary to use a phase-sequence meter to confirm the phase-rotation before restoring supply to the new motor.

∙ 11y agoAll you have to do is couple the motor to the generator. The motors output RPM should be at 1800 RPM to match the generator. The generator's rotation needs to be at this speed to generate at 60 HZ. But now comes the question, if you have three phase power already why not just install a transformer to get to the usable voltage that you need. From the transformer's secondary you can either draw the three phase voltage you need or just pick up any two legs from the three phase secondary for a single phase voltage that you need.
