anything to do with the lan cards or modems. it has a lot to do with ip filtering and computer hacking black hat and/or white hat. the lan card receives packets and sends them, by sniffing them out a hack or cyber crime can be preformed. these packet are sent by all computers no matter where they are (as long as they are connected to the net) even yours. inside these packets contain data which a software is then used to look through them. they containd all sorts of data ip addresses bank account numbers such forth.

Computer crime is generally where some organization or person is using their computer to accumulate to benefit financially illegally. It may also be any number of crime types such as scams, bogus lotteries, identity theft, cyber theft, belligerency, cyber libel, forgery, plagiarism, cyber terrorism, data manipulation, cyber vandalism, cyber assault, harassment... to name just a few.
