You will have to remove the parts that are in the way. Most likely it is the starter.
You can not disconnect the factory alarm, it is built into the computers.
engine block firewall side right below the intake hard to get to. and it adjustable so be carefull get it wrong it wont start
The Crankshaft Position (CKP) sensor is located at the right-rear side of the engine cylinder block CKP Sensor Location/Removal/Installation - 4.7L V - 8 Engine It is positioned and bolted into a machined hole in the engine block
Disconnect battery.
Under the timing chain, on the front of the crankshaft.

Try checking for the crankshaft sensor
Dodge did not produce the Durango until 1998. It is located on the bell housing on the right side of the engine where the transmission mounts to the engine
The 2006 Dodge Durango camshaft position sensor is located on the back end of the head. The position sensor should be labeled as such.
