Some diseases in a horse are Acute Laminitus, Navicular disease. Some hoof diseases are Brittle Hoof, Club-foot, Ringed hoof and Spongy Hoof. Some sicknesses are colic, foundering, rain rot or fungus. Search one of these and there's a good chance that you will get results.

Horses can't be sick because there is a one way valve in their stomach which shuts when food is being digested, that's why when horses eat something poisonous it can be fatal as they cant sick it up!!Horses can get very sick and ill in many different ways like us humans . But horses can not physically Vomit as to say !AnswerThey can get colic which is like a tummy bug for horses apart from much worse. If you think your horse has colic call the vet a.s.a.p

Signs of colic: Kicking at their stomach, Turning their head to look at their stomach and rolling.

If they have colic, keep them walking until the vet comes and don't let them roll! If they roll they can get twisted gut and most likely will be put down.

This is false. Horses can get sick, there are a lot of things horses can get that make them sick from colic to hoof problems to worms.

Horses cant be sick, its true! Its like a one way road, the vomit can only go one way! And yes there is a one way valve!

the worst is probably colic. since horses can't vomit the get bad stomach pains. the horse will try to roll, not good. the horse can get its intestines tangled up when it rolls. many horses have died from it.

Just like people, horses can get a variety of illnesses. The most common are:rabies, strangles, equine influenza, West Nile, rhino. There are vaccinations for alot of the most common ones listed above. There are also a number of ailments that are less common and are not routinely vaccinated against. If you take your horse away from his home environment more often (horse shows, parades, ect.) he is more likely to contract a illness. Keep up on all vaccinations and consult your vet for further advice on ways to keep your horse healthy. Added warning. When out with your horse always take your own water bucket and fill it from a fawcet or hose and not a communal watering trough. Diseases are spread much faster with horses shareing water and feed buckets.

The number 1 killer of horses is colic (stomach ache). Colic can be relatively simple and straight-forward or complex and difficult to find a cause. If your horse is displaying signs of colic call the vet immediately.

Horses can have serious problems from teeth and dental disease. Do not ignore your horses teeth. There are diseases of the eye like moon blindness. and the problems brought on by parasites. Diseases that used to be commonplace in horses are now almost never seen because of vaccinations and improved vet care.

What type of horses are mostly affected by equine influenza?

Equine influenza is, like many other influenza viruses, harder on the animals that have least resistance. These are usually older horses or horses with other health issues. Vaccination of horses for viral diseases is mostly done on competition and racehorses, but this is because of their monetary value and the amount they travel, putting them in contact with more horses.

What are the diseases affecting Arabian horses?

The same diseases that affect all horses are capable of affecting Arabian horses. Many Arabian horses are sensitive to a high green content in hay, and are therefore susceptible to colic. Arabian horses can contract any of the regular horse diseases if they are not properly inoculated against disease. Just like with any horse, make sure you keep a close eye on it and at first sign of illness, call the vet before it gets worse. For a description of some genetic diseases that affect the Arabian horse, please see the Related Links section below.
