Your system has to be clean of all drugs to pass an oral drug test. That is unless you can get away with not touching it to your sides of your mouth or your tongue but, it would need to be wet to work properly. Maybe you can keep a wet paper towel in your mouth and touch the swab to it only.

∙ 14y agoThe simple answer is "you can't", but I can tell you what the process involves (and hopefully you will see why it can't be avoided too)...
A mouth swab collects saliva from your mouth. The tester will give you a plastic stick with a cotton cylinder at the top, you will have to suck on it for approximately 4 - 5 minutes. After which time (hopefully) enough saliva will have collected on the cotton. They generally look for between 0.75 - 1 ml of saliva. Once collected it will immediately give either a "positive" or "negative", depending on whether you've been using illeagal drugs in the past 3 - 5 days (of course!).
Tests usually only look for Cocaine and Opiates (Heroin). There are advanced tests that are able to search for more, but these are not normally used on members of the public: the police may use them on suspects, and they may also apply to athletes as part of doping prevention.

∙ 15y agoI'd say don't smoke for about 2 days prior to your test. Make sure you drink lots of water, niacin helps get it out of your body, and just brush your teeth a lot.
