In chemical weathering mosses and linches have been found to grow on rocks and release chemicals that dissolve minerals from rocks. roots from plants are able to invade cracks with in rocks and increase the size of the cracks. There are a number of trees and other plants that release acidic chemicals which can cause weathering of the rocks, minerals, and soil around them. Plants also can have an affect on the way water weathers rocks and soils, they can channel water in specific directions that cause greater weathering or they can lessen the impact of rain falling on the ground. They also affect wind speed and direction near the surface of the ground having an effect on weathering in arid regions of the world. Plants can cause chemical weathering and mechanical weathering because in mechanical weathering plants grow their roots in the cracks of rocks. In chemical weathering plants grow their roots in the cracks of rocks, and the roots release acid that weathers away the rock.
Plants can cause physical weathering by their downward root growth into the soil and rock surface, thereby resulting to creation of cracks and expansion of crevices and breaking down of the soil or rock material into smaller fragments.
The roots of a plant can commonly grow into existing cracks in rocks. As the plant grows, the force of its expanding roots becomes so strong that the cracks widen. In time, the whole rock can split apart .

The roots seep deep into the stone with such force, it causes it to crack
The roots get in there and break them apart.
the sediments they'll leave their traces behind once the lava melts and turns them into rocks
Physical weathering is due to: rocks hitting other rocks causing them to break up from the action of frost and ice the action of wind or waves or running water the action of plants. Chemical weathering changes the composition of the rock and is due to: water dissolving minerals in the rock oxidation of metals in the rock
The main agents of chemical weathering are acid precipatation, lichens, and other plants like mold decaying the rock. :)
Erosion..... As wind, water, and glaciers move rock debris, they relentlessly disintegrate the rock further.
Chemical weathering is the dissolution, carbonation, oxidation, or hydrolysis of rock and mineral by chemical means only, mostly from reactions with water or the acids contained in rainwater.Other materials are formed in the process. Warm, tropical climates are ideal environments for chemical weathering to take place as the chemical reactions are quickened by the bountiful rain and warm temperatures. Water, oxygen, carbon dioxide, living organisms, and acid precipitation.
Water is a major component in weathering process. Its essential for all forms of disintegration either Mechanical/Physical, Biological or Chemical. Water aids in physical weathering through alternating wetting and drying of rocks thereby leading to breaking down of the rock. It helps in chemical weathering through dissolution of chemicals in rocks such as limestone. Water is a cause of both chemical and physical weathering.
well the acid rain will make the plants die but chemical weathering can help pastad is a yellow grainy shadow to help the sentaped weathering breaks into the soil
It breaks rock apart.
to be honest in mechanical weathering plants grow their roots in the cracks of rocks. In chemical weathering plants grow their roots in the cracks of rocks, and the roots release acid that weathers away the rock.
Lichen.
As plants grow out from cracks in rock, they push the rock further apart, and eventually it breaks apart.
The type of weathering that does not alter the chemical composition of the rock is called physical weathering. The acid weathering usually alter the chemical composition of a rock.
•Organisms (especially plants) excrete acids both to extract nutrients and to build roots •Cause rock weathering
any of the various weathering processes that cause physical disintegration of exposed rock without any change in the chemical composition of the rock
chemical weathering
By they acid in the substances it weathers the rock away.
Physical Weathering: is when a rock is broken into smaller and smaller pieces. Chemical Weathering: is when the rock change due to different chemical reactions.
chemical weathering is when a chemical reacts with a rock to brake down a rock.
